What is an Apostille ?

An Apostille is a certificate which verifies the seal and signature of the person who authenticated the document (a Notary Public in this case). There are 2 steps in getting an apostille certificate attached to your document.

1. Get your document notarized (jurat) by a notary public.
2. Send your document to the Secretary of State or an equivalent governmental agency in your state to get the apostille certificate.
A list of agencies that provide apostilles can be found by going to www.apostilleinfo.com

All documents for Chinese working visa (Z visa) must be authenticated by the Chinese Embassy AFTER getting your documents apostilled/authenticated.
