FAQ

Before you apply

Is it really free for teachers?
Yes. OK Recruiting is 100% free for teachers and always has been since 2006. Schools pay our fee — never you. There are no placement fees.
Do I need teaching experience?
No. Many of our teachers are recent graduates in their 20s and 30s with no prior experience. For the E-2 visa you need a bachelor's degree and citizenship from a qualifying English-speaking country. A TEFL certificate helps but isn't legally required.
How long does placement take?
After you apply we respond within 1–2 business days with matching schools. Overall timing depends on the season and your preferences.
Are housing and airfare included?
Most positions include free housing and airfare. We confirm the exact details of every offer before you commit.
