About the School

This English school in Dongjak-gu, Seoul grew out of a long-established private kindergarten and now runs both a kindergarten program and an elementary program under one roof. Kindergarten classes are small and built around project-based and theme-centered learning rather than textbook drilling, with the stated aim of developing creativity, reasoning and problem-solving alongside English. Each class is co-taught by two homeroom teachers, a native English-speaking teacher paired with a bilingual Korean teacher, and specialist subject teachers come in on top of that, so a new teacher is structurally never the only adult in the room. The afternoon kindergarten track groups preschool children by level and runs full English immersion five days a week through games, songs and storytelling. The elementary program is reserved for children who have already completed an English kindergarten, so those classes run in a 100 percent English environment and move on to reading, writing, grammar, current events and debate, where students are expected to take a position on a global issue and argue it in English. The campus is a single-story building with no stairs and open lawn grounds, and the program leans on hands-on experience over worksheets. Dongjak-gu sits in central Seoul just south of the Han River, and the school is roughly 400 meters from Isu Station, a transfer point between subway lines 4 and 7.
