Compare how you will study, how long you have access, and which certificate your target employer accepts. Choose a timetable you can finish before you need to submit it.
Already have TEFL or TESOL?
Check your existing certificate’s course hours against the employer’s requirements before paying for another general course. Keep a copy and the provider’s verification details ready.
Have a teaching qualification?
Ask the employer whether your teaching qualification or education degree already meets its training requirements. If you want further study, choose skills you need rather than another certificate just for the hours.

- Assessment
- Quizzes and written assignments, with feedback from your personal tutor.
- If you need more time
- Paid extensions run from one week to three months and can be bought before or after expiry. Check the current fee in your account.
- Getting your certificate
- After passing, download your PDF certificate from your student account. You can request one printed copy at no extra charge.
- Refunds
- The terms allow cancellation within 14 calendar days of purchase, but say this right is lost once you start the online course or submit the learner agreement. Read the terms before starting.

Bridge
- Assessment
- Module quizzes and Teaching Practice Scenarios, with tutor feedback. Bridge says there is no final exam or essay-writing requirement.
- If you need more time
- A three-month extension is listed at US$175 and can be purchased within one year of enrollment.
- Getting your certificate
- After passing, access your digital certificate and badge through Credly. A printed copy costs US$95 plus shipping: US$35 within the US or US$135 internationally. Allow up to four weeks for processing and shipping.
- Refunds
- Bridge’s FAQ says you can contact them within seven days of purchase for a full refund if you are not satisfied. Review the current purchase terms before enrolling.

What is the difference between The TEFL Org and Bridge?
Both are 120-hour, self-paced online courses. The TEFL Org gives you six months of access with tutor-marked written assignments. Bridge gives you three months of access with classroom scenarios and academic coaching. Bridge also has an ACE recommendation for nine undergraduate credits; your university decides whether to accept them. Compare the course content, study period and final price before choosing.
Do I need a TEFL certificate to teach in Korea?
Requirements depend on the position. Hagwons set their own hiring criteria. For EPIK, applicants without an education-related degree or a formal teaching credential need a TEFL, TESOL or CELTA course of at least 100 hours. A course certificate does not replace the other job and visa requirements. Check the position before enrolling.
Can I complete my TEFL course entirely online?
Yes. Both courses here are fully online and self-paced. EPIK’s current document guide allows online, classroom or mixed courses of at least 100 hours from accredited providers. In-class or practicum hours are a bonus, not a requirement, so adding them is your choice. Check the current requirements of the position you want.
Do I need 120 hours, 150 hours or Level 5?
Both featured courses have 120 hours. EPIK’s current minimum is 100 hours; a specific employer may ask for something different. More hours or a Level 5 label do not guarantee a job. The TEFL Org’s 120-hour Premier course is separate from its Ofqual-regulated Level 5 course.
How do the prices and discounts work?
On 22 October 2026, The TEFL Org’s US course page and cart showed US$219.60, reduced from US$549.00. Bridge’s cart showed a sale price of US$379.00, reduced from US$399.00. Does a TEFL course guarantee me a job?
No. Your course helps you prepare to teach. Schools still make their own hiring decisions, and you must meet the requirements for the job and visa.
