Lost Your Passport in Korea? Here’s What to Do — Step by Step

Losing your passport in a foreign country can be stressful, but don’t worry — follow these steps calmly and you’ll get things sorted out smoothly.

1. Report the Loss to the Police

Head to the nearest police station and report your lost passport. They will provide you with an official report, which may be required for further steps.

2. Visit Your Embassy or Consulate

Take the police report to your country’s embassy or consulate in Korea to apply for a new passport. They’ll guide you through the replacement process.

3. Update Immigration with Your New Passport

Once you receive your new passport, visit your local Immigration Office to update your records.
